The Wisemen's Journey

I was commissioned by Glenmary Home Missioners
to paint the journey of the wise men approaching
Bethlehem for their annual Christmas appeal.
We had gone through several iterations and
finalized the whole painting (with one minor
correction) and I was driving around the foothills
of southern Californa and was struck with inspiration
for a new composition, which ended up significantly
changing the composition and the painting for the better.
